Growing up in Minnesota it’s safe to say I am an expert at taking snowy pictures. Lake Tahoe is such a dreamy spot for your winter engagement session in Northern California.

I always love a good snowy photo shoot. The light is bouncing off the snow and giving a reflection on your face. That being said, if you’re thinking of taking your engagement photos in Lake Tahoe here are some things to think about.

Bring warm clothes or jackets. You won’t have to wear the jacket for all the photos but it’s nice to keep warm in between locations as it can get chilly. Speaking of style, throw in a cute pair of boots. Not only will they go with your outfit but they’ll be helpful while we walk through the snow in Lake Tahoe. Hand warmers are a lifesaver. Since you’ll be taking off your jackets for some photos you’ll lose some heat. You can put some hand warmers in your pockets or gloves to quickly warm-up. Trust me, nothing feels better than a little heat when you’re feeling a little cold.

Blankets are also a great addition to use as a prop and keep you warm. Lake Tahoe in the wintertime can get cold and having another layer to throw on while cuddling up creates cozy vibes. Lastly, it’s fun to have a hot chocolate or apple cider to warm up by sipping away. There’s something about the feeling you get when looking at your engagement gallery that will give the warm cozy vibes of your Lake Tahoe engagement session.
